Why Are Some Crystals More Expensive Than Others? Let’s Decode Crystal Grading Together

Why Are Some Crystals More Expensive Than Others? Let’s Decode Crystal Grading Together

I get asked this all the time.

“Ma’am, why are your crystals priced higher than the ones we see on other websites?”
“I saw a rose quartz bracelet for ₹499 on XYZ. Why is yours ₹1999?”

So today, I’m answering that — not just as someone who sells crystals, but as someone who has walked with them, meditated with them, programmed them, slept beside them, and witnessed what real, high-grade crystals can do.

The crystals I offer at Dr Neeti Kaushik Shop are not just pretty stones. They are powerful, natural tools of transformation.

And there’s a reason they come at a price.
Because they’re real. They’re raw. They’re rare.
And most importantly, they’re energetically potent.

So today, I’m taking you behind the scenes of the crystal world — and sharing everything you NEED to know about crystal grades, quality, sourcing, and pricing.

Crystals Are NOT Just Pretty Stones – They Are ENERGY TOOLS

Crystals are ancient earth-born energies that carry millions of years of geological wisdom.

They’re not just jewelry. Not just decor. They are vibration-holding, energy-transmitting, emotionally supportive companions.

Imagine using a water filter that’s clogged and low-quality.
Will it really give you clean water?

Similarly, if a crystal is cracked, artificially dyed, chemically heated, or synthetically made — its energy is compromised. You may still feel something, but it won’t be strong, pure, or aligned.

Crystals for Healing Must Be Energetically Clean and Pure

When you work with crystals for:

l  Chakra balancing

l  Emotional healing

l  Manifestation

l  Protection from negativity

l  Enhancing intuition or spiritual connection

...you need crystals that are natural, authentic, and energetically responsive.

A cheap ₹350 amethyst bracelet will not provide the same depth of healing as a properly sourced, triple-A grade, Reiki-charged bracelet that has traveled safely from Mother Earth to your wrist.

Crystals Are Graded – Just Like Diamonds, Fruits, or Tea Leaves

Not all amethysts are the same.
Not all rose quartz is equally pink.
Not all citrine is even citrine (yes, many are just heat-treated amethyst in disguise!).

Just like mangoes come in dozens of varieties – Alphonso, Dasheri, Totapuri – and are priced accordingly... crystals too have grades based on their quality.

Crystals are classified by grades, depending on:

l  Color intensity

l  Clarity and transparency

l  Structure and formation

l  Surface smoothness

l  Rarity

l  Natural vs. treated status

These grades are generally known as:

l  A Grade – Basic, low-quality

l  AA Grade – Medium quality

l  AAA Grade – High quality

l  Museum Grade / Extra Grade (AAA+) – Top-tier, rarest finds

Let’s go deeper into the four main grades and what they mean.

1. A Grade – Entry-Level, Basic, Budget-Friendly

These crystals are natural — but they are:

l  Less vibrant in color

l  Cloudy or milky in texture

l  Often chipped or scratched

l  Have visible inclusions, cracks, or dull patches

l  Minimal energy output

Example: An A grade amethyst tumble might be pale lavender, with white or grey clouding inside and not much transparency. It will still be real, but the energetic frequency may be weaker.

Price range: Very affordable, easily found in local markets.

💡 Ideal for: beginners, school projects, home décor, or rough handling

Not ideal for: healing, intention-setting, or meditation

⚠️ Caution: Many low-cost sellers pass off A grade as ‘premium’ or 'healing grade’. Always ask for grading, and compare photos.

2. AA Grade – More Refined Energy

A beautiful balance between quality and affordability. These crystals:

l  Have richer color

l  Better polish and symmetry

l  Fewer cracks or flaws

l  Hold moderate energetic resonance

Example: An AA grade rose quartz may be soft pink, slightly translucent, polished well, but may still show some milkiness or lines inside.

💰 Price range: Medium.

💡 Ideal for: chakra alignment, gifting, casual meditation, affirmation practice

3. AAA Grade – Healer’s Choice, Premium Quality

This is what most professional energy workers, reiki healers, and spiritual guides prefer.

AAA crystals are:

l  Rich and saturated in color

l  Transparent or with inner clarity

l  Polished to perfection

l  Rare in the market

l  Deeply resonant and energetically potent

l  Excellent for manifestation, rituals, altar work

Example: A AAA labradorite will display strong labradorescence – flashes of blue, green, gold, or violet, like magic caught in stone.
A AAA citrine tower will be bright honey-yellow, not burnt orange (a sign of heat-treated amethyst).

💰 Price range: Premium

💡 Ideal for: serious spiritual practice, energy work, intention programming

4. Museum / Extra Grade (AAA+/Top Grade)- Collector’s Dream

These are once-in-a-lifetime crystals — the kind you’ll rarely find in commercial stores.

They are:

l  Highly transparent

l  Optically clear or perfectly zoned

l  Naturally formed in breathtaking structure

l  Untreated and energetically pristine

Example: A Museum-grade fluorite cube may show stunning color zoning in perfect lines of purple, green, and blue.
A super clear quartz point may be almost like glass, amplifying every thought and vibration.

💰 Price range: High, and worth every rupee if you know what you're getting.

Ideal for: Advanced energy work, altar pieces, energy grids for homes or businesses, or ceremonial tools.

Here’s Where the Problem Lies – And Why So Many Get Misled

Not All Crystals Sold Online Are Natural – BEWARE!

A LOT of crystals sold online are:

l  Dyed (especially agates and quartz)

l  Heat-treated (like “citrine” that’s actually amethyst baked in an oven)

l  Synthetic or lab-grown (with zero natural energy)

l  Glass or resin imitations (yes, even “clear quartz” sometimes)

Let’s break down what’s often sold at cheap prices:

Label You See

What It Really Is

Aura Quartz

Metal-coated clear quartz

Citrine

Heat-treated amethyst

“Healing” Amethyst

Often dyed quartz

Blue Agate

Artificially dyed

Moonstone

Sometimes white labradorite

Malachite

Resin composite or glass imitation

You deserve to know the truth.

Because you’re not just buying a pretty rock — you’re investing in a tool of transformation, a companion for your journey, a silent but powerful healer.

What Goes Into The Price of a Quality Crystal?

What I Choose for You at Dr Neeti Kaushik shop

Let’s break it down:

1. Ethical Sourcing

We partner with miners and dealers who use safe, fair-labor practices and do not harm the environment. This makes our sourcing costlier — but also cleaner, karma-wise.

2. Hand-Picking by Eye and Energy

Each crystal is hand-selected — not in bulk from random sacks.
I hold them. Feel their energy. Reject 10 to keep 1.

3. Grading and Certification

We grade crystals based on their purity, color, structure, and source. Some are also certified.

4. Cleansing & Energizing

Each piece is energetically cleansed with:

l  Sound bowls

l  Full moon water

l  Sage or dhuni

5. Packaging with Purpose

We ensure your crystal reaches you protected, along with guides on how to use, cleanse, and set intentions.

You receive:

l  A crystal that’s already vibrating with energy

l  Free guidance on how to program, use, and care for it

l  A partner in your journey — not just a product

Because when you’re manifesting abundance, love, or peace…
you need pure energy, not just “cheap” options.

How to Know If Your Crystal Is Worth It

✨ Feel its energy — are you drawn? Do you feel warm, calm, or buzzy holding it?
✨ Does it look overly shiny, glassy, or plastic-like? Be cautious.
✨ Real crystals may have natural inclusions – a little imperfection is a good thing.
✨ Ask for grading or close-up photos when buying online.

So Which Grade Should YOU Choose?

It depends on:

l  Your intention

l  Your budget

l  The purpose of the crystal

But if you ask me?

✨ If you’re working on yourself, your inner growth, or manifestation, always go for at least AA or AAA.
✨ For rituals, spiritual practices, or gifting a sacred tool — choose AAA or Museum Grade.
✨ And for home décor, grid building, or collection purposes — A or AA can still be good.

I always say this –
“Crystals don’t work because we believe in them. They work because they are energy.”

But energy responds to quality.
And when you invest in a crystal, you’re not just buying a stone.
You’re inviting a sacred frequency into your space.

So choose consciously. Ask questions.
And always trust your intuition… it never lies.

With love, energy, and pure intent,
Dr Neeti Kaushik
